Merseyside innovation hunt set to begin
The hunt for a 16th winner of the Merseyside Innovation Awards is set to begin next week.
Insider and the BBC are acting as media partners for this year’s ceremony, which are designed to encourage and enable people and businesses in Merseyside to develop and realise their innovative ideas.
Last year’s overall winner was manufacturing company Kleen and Green. It scooped a £10,000 cash prize, advice worth £4,000 and space at Liverpool Science Park after developing a device capable of reducing petrol costs by up to 40 per cent.
The company beat off tough competition from Hoylake-based Sign Lights, which has a low energy light used to illuminate all types and sizes of signs, and Bromborough-based BuilderScrap, a not-for-profit service for the construction industry which allows users to pass on leftover building supplies which would have otherwise been thrown away.
