Cllr Nick Small meets Eastern Approaches Business Leaders

Councillor Nick Small recently met the Eastern Approaches Business Leaders Group to discuss Liverpool City Council’s plans to increase businesses access to its supply chain.

The event held at Gardner Systems PLC on the 28th September, attracted around 70 businesses who were also provided with the opportunity to network.

Cllr Nick Small, Cabinet member for Enterprise and Skills, was welcomed by the group’s Chair, Graham Knott. Graham said:

“Cllr Small spoke to the group about the approach he is taking to develop Liverpool as a thriving centre of Enterprise and let us know how businesses can benefit from the upcoming Global Entrepreneurship Congress being held in the city in March 2012.

“Nick also explained LCC’s decision to outsource the Council’s procurement department activities. He stressed that the aim of outsourcing these functions was to increase businesses access to the council’s supply chain and how this could help grow the economy faster.

The talk was followed by a question and answer session and Cllr Small expressed his gratitude to the businesses for providing him with worthwhile feedback which would enhance the proposed change. Here are a selection of photographs from the event:
