Drink the dry bar with BRINK

A ground-breaking ‘dry-bar’ named The Brink has officially opened on Liverpool’s Parr St.

The 8 month build has seen a disused garage transformed into a vibrant multi-functional bar, restaurant and performance space.

The interior includes a series of communal spaces, designed to encourage groups and individuals to join in each other’s conversations. This is balanced by more intimate areas for guests wanting a more private dining experience.

The venue’s playful interior sees plants hanging from the ceiling and classical furniture painted and recovered in zesty bright colours. The bar has also been designed to evolve over time.

In a departure from the scores of licensed-establishments it’s known for designing, R2 Architecture has unveiled the project. Its Practice Director, Richard Eastwood said:

“It was important that this space reflected the personalities of its staff and indeed patrons. Therefore we’ve purposely left some areas lose, in order for ‘design interventions’ to happen over time. We’re tremendously pleased with the finished result, and look forward to seeing the space develop.”

Matt Biagetti, Liverpool Vision’s Area Investment Manager, said: “The Brink is an innovative, creative and inspirational business, which will add something completely different to the Ropewalks area, and the city centre as a whole. It is vital that we support the growth of businesses like these.”

Matt is working closely with The Brink to explore opportunities to connect the business with the wider city centre communities, including residents, businesses, visitors and students.
