Kin Event Pays Tribute to Local Businesswoman
More than 100 creative businesses paid tribute to recently deceased Claire McKeown at the latest ‘Kin’ networking event.
The event, held at Static Gallery on the 13th July 2011, celebrated Claire’s life and acknowledged the significant contribution she made to Liverpool’s creative industries. The event was especially poignant as Claire McKeown played a key role in developing the Kin Creative Business network.
Kevin McManus, Liverpool Vision’s Head of Creative and Digital said:
“It was fitting that so many people who had worked with Claire over the years came along to pay tribute to her. She was a remarkable woman, and a good friend, and will be missed by us all.”
Other leading creatives from the Kin network, including Geraldine Turner from Clarity Creation and Jon Barraclough from Jon Barraclough and Company paid tribute to Claire with a heartfelt speech.
The event also provided guest with an opportunity to network and hear from the major UK provider of apprenticeship training, Pearson in Practice, who discussed how their initiative is helping emerging industry creatives to develop the skills needed to become the next generation of sought after employees.
