Liverpool Metquarter adds continental style with Patisserie Valerie opening
Liverpool was treated to a touch of “ooh la la” style on Saturday, with the official opening of Patisserie Valerie in the city’s Metquarter.
The fast-expanding specialist retailer has added Liverpool to its 24-strong chain offering early morning breakfasts and delivered catering.
Metquarter centre manager Jennina O’Neill said, “We are excited for the arrival of Patisserie Valerie at Metquarter.”
Last summer, Patisserie Valerie opened new stores in Leeds, York, Windsor and Manchester.
Paul May, the chain’s chief executive, added: “We provide a dazzling array of pure indulgence in the form of our delicious cake range, but we do not neglect the basics of breakfasts, lunches, etc. Many business breakfast clubs use our facilities early in the mornings, for example.
“We believe that we will only add to the shopping experience at Metquarter.”
The chain was founded in 1926 by a Belgian, Madame Valerie.
Each new opening creates between 20 and 25 new jobs.
