Sound City’s youth project
The organisers of music festival and conference Liverpool Sound City (LSC) have launched a scheme to help young people find work in the music industry.
“Go Create, Go Beyond” will offer masterclasses to 16 to 19-year- olds in Merseyside to help them “develop their musicianship and performance skills” and find training and job opportunities.
They will be given the chance to organise and perform at events at LSC in May, 2012.
Festival director Dave Pichilingi wants LSC to help develop the region’s creative talent.
A spokesman said: “We view this project as key to our commitment to support and develop the region’s stars of tomorrow whilst embracing creativity, education and skills development to produce young inspirational music leaders.”
The closing date for applications is Wednesday, September 7.
