Think Tank Director Phillip Blond Praises Liverpool Vision
Internationally recognised political thinker Phillip Blond has praised Liverpool Vision during his recent visit to Liverpool’s head quarters in London.
The highly influential social and economic commentator, who has the Prime Minister’s ear, recognised Vision’s involvement in establishing a business hub in the nation’s capital and its successful bid to host the 2012 Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC).
Mr Blond visited the ‘Liverpool in London’ offices to attend an event hosted by SEN, Liverpool’s social enterprise network.
Phillip said: “It’s exciting to think that Liverpool beat hefty competition from the United Arab Emirates, Denmark and Santiago, to host the GEC next March. It is a huge achievement that will put a global spotlight on the city.
“Liverpool Vision understands that entrepreneurship is vital. This event will involve all entrepreneurs, big players and smaller businesses and I think it is going to be one of the events of the year for entrepreneurship, innovation and ownership. Essentially it is a game changer.”
Mr Blond, the director and founder of the award winning public policy think tank ResPublica was also impressed with the success of ‘Liverpool in London’ which promotes Liverpool as a growing and internationally significant business destination.
He added “I would also like to congratulate Liverpool Vision for ‘Liverpool in London’. It looks set to be a hugely transformative and cost effective space they have created, handling enquiries worth an estimated £148m since January 2011.”
