Welcome to 'It’s Liverpool in China’- the network for businesses in the region doing business in or aspiring to do business in China.
The network has been developed in response to the extraordinary success of the Shanghai EXPO and has been vital to ensure the momentum is maintained.
Hundreds of businesses across the region are doing millions of pounds of business in China. The economic potential in terms of inward investment is huge and, through this network, some of it can be harnessed.
Through the network, member businesses can access special events designed to help them explore and maximise trading opportunities in China, connect with other organisations, as well as access information, advice and news.
The network was launched on 6 July 2011 and a number of events have taken place over the last 12 months. Further events and activities are planned throughout 2012/13
The latest event took place on 15 March, at the Museum of Liverpool, as part of the festival of entrepreneurship, one of around 70 events and activities which took place during GEC week. Rahul Kale, Director of International Business at Typhoo Tea shared his experience of selling tea to China and operating in this fast growing grocery market which is estimated to become the world’s largest by 2015.
