Brabners Chaffe Street adds support to Liverpool Pavillion
One of the north west’s leading law firms has signed up to become an official sponsor of Liverpool’s Pavilion at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai.
Brabners Chaffe Street, which employs 380 people across its offices in Liverpool, Manchester and Preston, has joined a growing list of businesses in the city to show its support for the Liverpool’s presence at the World Expo.
The firm specialises in corporate, commercial, employment, litigation, property and sports law and will be a significant player in showcasing the north west’s contribution to the professional services sector at the Expo in Shanghai which runs from May to October this year.
The firm has been involved with a number of major deals in the city last year and in the last month alone its 23-strong corporate team in Liverpool has advised on the acquisition of helicopter flight training school Helicentre Liverpool, based at John Lennon Airport, and two key shareholding transfers for SITA UK Limited.
In 2009, Brabners Chaffe Street were also appointed sole legal advisor to Peel Ports, the UK’s second largest ports group. The three year contract includes all employment, commercial litigation, property and planning, corporate, commercial and marine issues across Peel Ports’ entire English portfolio, including Mersey Docks & Harbour Company.

Liverpool’s participation in the Expo is being led by Liverpool Vision in partnership with the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), Liverpool City Council and the Liverpool-Shanghai Partnership.
The World Expo runs between May 1 and October 31 and is regarded as a once-in-a-generation opportunity to consolidate existing and forge new relationships in the world’s emerging markets. It is predicted to deliver up to £50m in economic benefits to Liverpool and the North West over the next decade.
