companies in the region and an equivalent number of non-core speciality
companies operating in the life science value chain, there is a critical
mass to foster cluster synergy and growth.
The sector employs over 4000 people directly, and turns over in excess of
£1/4 billion p.a. (397 million euro).
A dedicated Biosciences Centre and Incubator unit has been established at
the
University
of Liverpool with state of the art facilities and dedicated business
support provided by the
Merseybio.
Liverpool will also be the location for the UK's first National Biomanufacturing
Centre.
